Amherst Securities Group Hires Peter DiMartinoAustin, TX, October 24, 2008 – Amherst Securities Group LP, a broker-dealer specializing in residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), today announced it has hired Peter DiMartino as mortgage-backed securities salesperson. Mr. DiMartino, who was previously responsible for mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and asset-backed securities (ABS) products research at Bear Stearns, will be based in Connecticut.

Prior to working at Bear Stearns, Mr. DiMartino was the head of MBS/ABS strategy at RBS Greenwich Capital, where he was responsible for relative value opinions in both U.S. residential mortgage and consumer credit sectors, including MBS, ABS and derivative products, as well as analyzing macro-economic housing indicators. From 1988 until 2002, Mr. DiMartino served as a researcher and became head of ABS and Mortgage Credit Strategy at Salomon Brothers/Citigroup. Prior to working as a mortgage strategist, Mr. DiMartino held other finance-related positions and also taught as an adjunct professor at CUNY. He has been recognized many times by Institutional Investor Magazine for being among the industry's best analysts in the Non-Agency MBS, ABS, Mortgage Credit and Mortgage Prepayment Sectors.
Mr. DiMartino graduated from the City University of New York with a B.S. in Economics. He received his M.B.A. from Wagner College. Mr. DiMartino will be based in Connecticut.
